NEW BETHEL CEMETERY NEWS
What in the world is this? you ask! Cemetery News? I don't understand. Well, New Bethel Church is over 100 years old, and a cemetery has been part of her history and heritage for most of those years. Many of our friends, family and neighbors are buried here. For this reason, we strive to maintain the property in as nice a condition as is possible for us. This maintenance costs us about $3000.00 or better a year, and this is mostly for mowing. Any maintenance to the grounds are additional. For this reason, we ask folks who have family or kin buried in our cemetery to consider a regular contribution to help us with this maintenance. This year, we did have a community yard sale which yielded about 1/3 of the amount or a little more. We also had several folks to make donations which further helped us for the year 2004. We also did a cook book project for which the proceeds go to this maintenance. So far, the sales have been very good, but we still have some left. If you would like one, please send a donation of $10.00 or more to our cemetery maintenance fund, we will send you a copy and your receipt post paid. Please see the information below...
This year our yard / bake sale is planned for Saturday, May 6, 2006, 7 AM 'til 5 PM. This sale is to help provide funds for the mowing and maintenance of our cemetery. Families who have kin folks buried here, should consider giving a regular contribution to New Bethel to help with this maintenance. Since there is not enough income provided by this volunteer method, it is necessary for the church to make up the difference in order to properly maintain the cemetery grounds. Any items you could donate to the sale will be greatly appreciated.
Please come back by and visit again...we are planning more pictures of the cemetery. Please direct any questions to our Pastor by clicking on the email above. We plan a listing later of the folks buried here with dates as we have them. If you have any information that will help, please contact our Pastor. |
